BREAKING NEWS: Canada will accept 90,000 students and workers for permanent residency!

For students and workers who have been living in Canada since the beginning of the pandemic, we received some amazing news today! Immigration Canada has created a new immigration pathway in order to grant permanent residency for international students and workers who are already in Canada.

This innovative new immigration stream is expected to create a pathway towards permanent residncy for 90,000 essential workers and students! We believe that this is IRCC's way of meeting their immigration targets announced in their 2021-2023 Immigration levels Plan.

How many applicants will be approved for Permanent Residency (PR) in this new stream?

  • 20,000 applications will be approved for temporary workers in health care

  • 30,000 applications will be approved for temporary workers in essential occupations (check the official list later)

  • 40,000 applications will be approved for international students who recently graduated from a Canadian school.

Can applicants apply from the province of Québec?

- At this moment its not entirely clear if you can apply FROM the province of Québec as the IRCC public policy does mention that you need to intend to reside outside the province of Québec ot be eligible for this new program. Therefore, we advise that applicants move out of the province of Québec in order to qualify for this program.

Are spouses of applicants included in this new policy as well?

- Yes, family members are eligible to be granted permanent residence too if they are already in Canada and included in the application as an accompanying family member.

When will the new program be open for applications?

- The new immigration program is set to open on May 6th, 2021 until November 5th, 2021.

- The applications will be received on a first come first serve basis.

- For example, IRCC will stop accepting applications in the international students (recent graduates) category once they have received 40,000 applications.
